Welcome! All parents/guardians and their student-athletes must provide the following information to obtain sports clearance by the first official start/practice date. Registration processing will begin July 21st, but you are welcome to start completing this registration now.
Fall Sports Offered @ MVHS: Softball, Boys Soccer, Boys and Girls Cross Country, Boys Golf, Girls Volleyball, Football, Boys Tennis, Cheerleading, and Girls Flag Football.
Football and Boys Golf Official Start Date: August 3rd
All Other Fall Sports Official Start Date: August 10th

ATHLETIC CLEARANCE PROCESS TO DETERMINE ELIGIBILITY
- All student-athletes are required to meet CHSAA eligibility standards
- Only registered and APPROVED athletes may participate in the first day of practice or tryouts
PHYSICALS and MEDICAL INSURANCE
- All athletes must have a current sports physical from a licensed physician
- Physicals are current for 12 months only
- Athletes are required to have adequate medical insurance before the first practice/tryout

- Please ensure all signatures are complete on page 4 (Student, parent, etc.)
GRADES, BEHAVIOR, ATTENDANCE
- Athletes need to meet grade, behavior, and attendance expectations

FEES
- This fee must be paid before participating in formal practice (a refund will be issued if a student does not make a team).

- Non-TSD HS/Charter Enrolled Student/Athletics Only Student-Athletes: Please bring in a check or cash payment to the school. Checks or cash payments can be given to Melissa Waldron (athletics and activities secretary) in the Never Summer Office or Akayla Michael (bookkeeper) in the MVHS main office starting July 21st.
- $175 – TSD HS Enrolled Student ($400 family maximum per family per school year)
- $225 – Non-TSD HS/Charter Enrolled Student ($500 family maximum per family per school year)
- $150 football equipment fee for all first-time tackle football participants. The football equipment fee does NOT count towards the family maximum.
- Athletic fees will be waived for students approved for the Family Benefits Application. If you have received an approval letter from Nutrition Services, please forward that letter to melissa.waldron@tsd.org
INSURANCE COVERAGE:
In compliance with school district policy, every student participating in an organized athletic program must be covered by appropriate medical/accident insurance. If you do not have insurance, please click here for K and K Insurance to enroll (Search for Thompson School District)
SCHOOL WITHOUT PROGRAM STUDENTS AND TRANSFERS:
IF YOU DO NOT ATTEND MVHS, BUT WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR ATHLETICS BECAUSE YOUR SCHOOL DOESN’T OFFER THEM:
Athletic Registration Instructions for Non-TSD Enrolled Students
***This applies to Home School, CEC, Goal Academy, or Other Non-TSD Enrolled Student-Athletes (who attend another school without a program) ***

- Athletics/Secondary Enrollment (Athletics-Only Registration) with the Thompson School District
- Homeschooled athletes must complete the Notification of Intent to Homeschool form and the Athletics-Only registration application. For more information, contact the district at (970) 613-5087 or email homeschool@tsd.org.
- The required waiver form that you need to complete will be sent after communication with the athletic department.
- A school without a program participant may not compete (a school without a program transfer student is not able to practice without approval) until the CHSAA school without a program waiver form has been approved by CHSAA.
IF YOU TRANSFERRED TO MVHS IN THE LAST 365 DAYS:
- Please complete the transfer sections of the registration process to the best of your ability.
